Baosteel heavy plate rolling mill holds trial run

China’s Baosteel held a ceremony for the hot load trial run of its new heavy plate rolling mill on March 21, 2005. The state-of-the-art 5-meter heavy plate rolling mill, which is the first of its kind in China, will produce premium products with high efficiency and low cost. The mill is capable of rolling out nearly 200 varieties of steel grades, covering a vast array of heavy steel products. Baosteel will be able to satisfy the domestic market with large caliber pipeline steel, high strength ship building steel, high strength welding structural steel and boiler and pressure vessel steel.
