Baogang’s crude steel output down 8.26% in Feb from Jan

On March 5, Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co. (Baogang Group) announced that in February this year it produced 775,500 mt of pig iron, down 10.58 percent, 818,100 mt of crude steel, down 8.26 percent, and 778,300 mt of finished steel, down 10.5 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
 
Additionally, Baogang Group’s rail and beam plant produced a total of 71,400 mt of steel rails in February, 1,900 mt more than the targeted volume. Meanwhile, Baogang’s steel sheet plant produced 34,200 mt of galvanized sheet in the given month, exceeding the target by 4,200 mt.
