On April 25, Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co. (Baogang Group) signed a cooperation agreement regarding bainitic steel production with Beijing-based Teye Industrial and Trade Co., as reported by Baogang on April 26.

Teye Industrial and Trade has developed a patent for production of bainitic steel, focusing on production of combustion engine parts and steel rails. Zhang Miansheng, president of Teye Industrial and Trade, stated that both companies would combine their efforts in developing low carbon, high-strength, high-abrasion-resistant bainitic steel to support railway construction in China.

Li Chunlong, general manager of Baogang, said that the cooperation in question will entail new benefits and high value-added products to broaden its market share.
