Baogang produces 880,400 mt of crude steel in May

Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co. (Baogang Group) has announced that in May this year its outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel amounted to 837,400 mt, 880,400 mt and 839,600 mt respectively.
In May, the finished steel shipments of the company totaled 884,500 mt, of which 559,100 mt was transported by rail and 325,400 mt by truck.

Meanwhile, in given month Baogang Group's subsidiary Baogang International Trade exported 102,300 mt of finished steel, increasing by 18,900 mt year on year. The value of these exports reached $64.74 million, up $8.04 million year on year.

In the January-May period of the current year, Baogang International Trade exported 508,600 mt of finished steel, increasing by 20 percent, with an export value of $305 million, up six percent, both year on year.
