AvestaPolarit melting shop closes down in 2003

Degerfors melting shop of Finnish steel producer AvestaPolarit will be closed down by mid-2003. According to a recent report from the indstry, AvestaPolarit has intentions to hand it over to new investors prior to the close down. However negotiations held with a businessman were dropped for as both parties failed to reach a mutual agreement on the terms of business to turn the melting shop into a plant to produce semi-finished products for tool steel.
