In late August (August 21-31) this year, the average price in China of coking coal was recorded at RMB 1,150.0/mt ($168.6/mt), remaining stable, while the average price of second-grade metallurgical coke was RMB 2,378.8/mt ($348.8/mt), up by RMB 201.3/mt ($29.5/mt) or 9.3 percent, both compared to prices in mid-August (August 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
