Average second-grade coke price in China up 5.7 percent in late August

In late August (August 21-30) this year, the average prices in China of coking coal and second-grade metallurgical coke were recorded at RMB 1,100.0/mt ($168.0/mt) and RMB 1,938.3/mt ($296.0/mt), increasing by RMB 8.3/mt ($1.3/mt) and RMB 104.7/mt ($16.0/mt), compared to prices in mid-August (August 11-20), i.e., up 0.8 percent and 5.7 percent respectively , as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on September 4.
