Average second-grade coke price in China up 5.1 percent in mid-August

In mid-August (August 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of coking coal and second-grade metallurgical coke were recorded at RMB 1,091.7/mt ($164.1/mt) and RMB 1,833.6/mt ($275.6/mt), increasing by RMB 44.2/mt ($6.6/mt) and RMB 88.2/mt ($13.3/mt), compared to prices in early August (August 1-10), i.e., up 4.2 percent and 5.1 percent respectively , as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on August 24.
