In early May (May 1-10) this year, the average price in China of coking coal was recorded at RMB 1,180.0/mt ($186.4/mt), remaining stable, while the average price of second-grade metallurgical coke was RMB 1,666.8/mt ($262.9/mt), up by RMB 55.5/mt ($8.75/mt) or 3.4 percent, both compared to prices in late April (April 21-30), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
