Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up 1.8 percent in early April

In early April (April 1-10) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate and 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet were respectively recorded at RMB 4,048.9/mt ($603.4/mt), RMB 4,149.7/mt ($618.4/mt), RMB 4,096.6/mt ($610.5/mt) and RMB 4,042.9/mt ($602.5/mt), up RMB 72.0/mt ($10.7/mt), RMB 69.3/mt ($10.3/mt), RMB 44.7/mt ($6.7/mt) and RMB 50.8/mt ($7.6/mt), i.e. rising by 1.8 percent, 1.7 percent, 1.1 percent and 1.3 percent compared to prices in late March (March 21-31), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average prices in China of 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 4,868.2/mt ($725.5/mt) and RMB 4,238.0/mt ($631.6/mt), down RMB 23.0/mt ($3.4/mt) and RMB 5.1/mt ($0.8/mt), i.e. decreasing by 0.5 percent and 0.1 percent compared to prices in late March (March 21-31).
