Average HRB 400 rebar price in China up 0.4 percent in late May

In late May (May 21-30) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar and 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod were respectively recorded at RMB 4,109.7/mt ($595.6/mt) and RMB 4,247.7/mt ($615.6/mt), up RMB 18.2/mt ($2.6/mt) and RMB 29.2/mt ($4.2/mt), up 0.4 percent and 0.7 percent, compared to prices in mid-May (May 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average prices of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 4,106.0/mt ($595.1/mt), RMB 4,065.2/mt ($589.2/mt), RMB 4,803.6/mt ($696.2/mt) and RMB 4,200.6/mt ($608.8/mt), down RMB 22.7/mt ($3.3/mt), RMB 15.1/mt ($2.2/mt), RMB 26.2/mt ($3.8/mt) and RMB 4.3/mt ($0.6/mt), down 0.5 percent, 0.4 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.1 percent, compared to prices in mid-May (May 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
