Average HRB 400 rebar price in China edges up slightly in late March

In late March (March 21-31) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod and 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes were respectively recorded at RMB 3,976.9/mt ($592.7/mt), RMB 4,080.4/mt ($608.1/mt) and RMB 4,891.2/mt ($728.9/mt), up RMB 1.6/mt ($0.24/mt), up RMB 0.6/mt ($0.09/mt), and down RMB 2.3/mt ($0.34/mt), compared to prices in mid-March (March 11-20), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

In the given period, the average prices in China of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were recorded at RMB 4,051.9/mt ($603.9/mt), RMB 3,992.1/mt ($594.9/mt) and RMB 4,243.1/mt ($632.4/mt), up RMB 30.5/mt ($4.55/mt), RMB 22.1/mt ($3.3/mt) and RMB 25.8/mt ($3.85/mt), i.e., rising by 0.8 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.6 percent, compared to prices in mid-March (March 11-20).
