Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 1.6 percent in mid-May

In mid-May (May 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod, 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet, 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 4,091.5/mt ($593.0/mt), RMB 4,218.5/mt ($611.4/mt), RMB 4,128.7/mt ($598.4/mt), RMB 4,080.3/mt ($591.4/mt), RMB 4,829.8/mt ($700.0/mt) and RMB 4,204.9/mt ($609.4/mt), down RMB 65.5/mt ($9.5/mt), RMB 54.9/mt ($8.0/mt), RMB 38.2/mt ($5.5/mt), RMB 42.0/mt ($6.1/mt), RMB 13.5/mt ($2.0/mt) and RMB 28.5/mt ($4.1/mt), i.e., respectively decreasing by 1.6 percent, 1.3 percent, 0.9 percent, 1.0 percent, 0.3 percent and 0.7 percent, compared to prices in early May (May 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
