Average HRB 400 rebar price in China down 0.9 percent in mid-February

In mid-February (February 11-20) this year, the average prices in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar, 6.5 mm HPB 300 wire rod and 5 mm x 5 mm angles were respectively recorded at RMB 3,904.2/mt ($576.7/mt), RMB 4,017.4/mt ($596.0/mt) and RMB 4,151.7/mt ($613.2/mt), down 0.9 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, compared to prices in early February (February 1-10), while the average prices in China of 20 mm Q235 common medium plate, 3 mm Q235 hot rolled sheet and 219 mm x 6 mm seamless pipes were recorded at RMB 3,978.5/mt ($587.7/mt), RMB 3,910.0/mt ($577.5/mt) and RMB 4,871.7/mt ($719.6/mt), up 0.2 percent, 0.3 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively, also compared to prices in early February, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
