Automotive sales in Turkey up 26.3 percent in January-April

In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 14.6 percent year on year and by 47.1 percent month on month to 26,457 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey fell by 10.6 percent year on year and were down by 45.3 percent month on month to 21,825 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles declined by 29.3 percent year on year and by 54.2 percent month on month to 4,632 units.

Meanwhile, in the first four months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 26.3 percent year on year, amounting to 150,860 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were up by 30.3 percent to 121,455 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 12.2 percent to 29,405 units, both on year-on-year basis.
