In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 6.4 percent year on year and were down by 6.8 percent month on month to 71,126 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased 4.98 percent year on year and were down by 7.8 percent month on month to 55,108 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 10.96 percent year on year and were down by 3.2 percent month on month to 16,018 units.
Meanwhile, in the January-April period of 2018, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles fell by 1.09 percent year on year, amounting to 229,556 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 1.99 percent to 177,418 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 10.29 percent to 52,138 units, both on year-on-year basis.
