Automotive sales in Turkey down 44.77 percent in January-June

In June this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 16.36 percent year on year to 42,688 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey declined by 12.62 percent year on year to 36,024 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 32.08 percent year on year to 6,664 units.

Meanwhile, in the first six months of the year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 44.77 percent year on year, amounting to 195,144 units. In this period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 43.31 percent to 156,378 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 49.97 percent to 38,766 units, both on year-on-year basis.
