ATI Allegheny Ludlum announces price increase

ATI Allegheny Ludlum increased its plate, sheet and strip prices effective for shipments as of April 11, 2005, according to company sources. Accordingly, the discount for 410, 410S, 317L, 317LX™ and 317LXN™ plate prices will be reduced by 3%. The reduction in the discount equates to a 5% increase in transaction prices. The prices of alloy 2205 plate, sheet and strip will increase 3%. Moreover, prices of alloy AL-6XN® plate, sheet and strip will increase 6%, while those of alloy AL276 plate, sheet and strip will increase 9%. Existing raw material surcharges will remain in effect. ATI Allegheny reportedly increased prices in an effort to offset rising manufacturing costs.
