Argentinian industrial output up in December

Argentinian industrial production in December improved 0.3 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the country’s statistics agency, Indec.

Government data indicated industrial production at the country’s automotive sector in the last month of the year rose 12.7 percent, year-on-year.

Industrial production in December at the local metal mechanic sector grew 1.8 percent, year-on-year.

According to Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the country’s industrial companies for Q1 2018, 51.8 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand on a year-on-year basis. On the other hand, another 35.5 percent anticipate an increase in demand, while 12.7 percent expect a decrease.

Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 53.3 percent expect a stable Q1 2018 for exports, also on a year-on-year basis. Additionally, 29.9 percent foresee an increase and 8.3 percent expect a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
