Argentinian industrial output rose for the fourth consecutive month in August, when compared to the same month of the year prior, according to the nation’s statistics agency, Indec.
Argentina’s industrial production in August improved 5.1 percent, year-on-year, and 1.4 percent in the accumulated period of January to August, also on a year-on-year basis.
Indec said industrial production at the local automotive segment in August rose 7.1 percent, year-on-year, while industrial production at the local metal mechanic segment grew 20.2 percent in the same period, also on a year-on-year basis.
According to a Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the country’s industrial companies for September-November period, on a year-on-year basis, 51.3 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand.
On the other hand, another 39.6 percent foresee an increase in demand, while 9.1 percent expect a decrease.
Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 52.6 percent expect a stable September-November period for exports, year-on-year. However, 28.2 percent expect an increase and 19.2 percent anticipate a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
