Argentinian crude steel output rises 21.8 percent in December

Argentinian crude steel production in December rose 21.8 percent, year-on-year, to 380,800 mt, the country’s steel association Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA) said on Tuesday.

Local crude steel output in the last month of the year decreased 12.5 percent, month-on-month, from 435,000 mt in November.

Hot rolled finished steel output in December was 416,400 mt, 34.3 percent up, year-on-year, and 0.5 percent up, month-on-month. Cold rolled flat steel output in December improved 13.2 percent, year-on-year, and 20.1 percent, month-on-month, to 128,700 mt.

As for full-year results, crude steel output in 2017 grew 12.1 percent, year-on-year, to 4.6 million mt.

Hot rolled finished steel output in the same period was 4.5 million mt, 15.3 percent up, year-on-year.

On the other hand, Argentinian cold rolled flat steel production in 2017 fell 2.5 percent, year-on-year, to 1.3 million mt.
