Argentina’s Siderar posts $71 million net profit in Q2

Argentinian steelmaker Ternium Siderar said this week it saw its net profit increase 54.5 percent in Q2, year-on-year, to ARS 1.2 billion ($71.07 million).

According to Siderar, net revenues in Q2 improved 36.1 percent, year-on-year, to ARS 8.8 billion ($500 million), while sales volumes in the same period rose to 600,200 mt in Q2, from 562,700 mt in the same quarter of the year prior.

Most of Siderar’s sales in Q2 were destined to the Argentinian domestic market, while exports, which reached 31,300 mt in Q2, went to Central and South America (89 percent), Europe and other destinations (10 percent) and North America (1 percent).
