ArcelorMittal Temirtau to invest Tenge 11 billion in 2010-2011 environmental program

ArcelorMittal Temirtau, the Kazakhstan-based subsidiary of steel giant ArcelorMittal, has announced that in 2010-2011 it plans to invest Tenge 11 billion (about $74.6 million) in the implementation of its environmental program.

Accordingly, the realization of environment protection activities planned in 2010-2011 will allow ArcelorMittal Temirtau to reduce the impact on the environment by reducing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere by 16,000 metric tons or 5.6 percent annually, and by 25.5 percent by 2015.
