ArcelorMittal ships over 192.000 mt of rebar for Panama Canal project

ArcelorMittal Las Truchas, Mexican-based subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, has announced that in the most recent tender it has supplied more than 192,000 mt of rebar for the Panama Canal expansion project. With this shipment, ArcelorMittal Las Truchas has now supplied a total of approximately 242,000 mt of steel products since the beginning of the expansion project.
 
Meanwhile, the Panama Canal Authority recently announced that they are looking into the construction and design of the fourth set of locks for the canal, which will require another 121,200 mt of steel products.
