ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada commissions walking beam furnace

In July this year, ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, ArcelorMittal's Canadian division, commissioned the walking beam furnace supplied by the Italian plant manufacturer Forni Industriali Bendotti to its Contrecœur-Ouest plant north of Montréal.

Installation of the plant started last January. The furnace has a capacity of 130 tons per hour and feeds the existing rolling mill for rounds and SBQ (special steel bars).

The global steel giant has commissioned a total of seven Bendotti heating furnaces, of which four in the last six years: ArcelorMittalAnnaba - Algeria; ArcelorMittal BH Steel - Bosnia Herzegovina; ArcelorMittal Temirtau - Kazakhstan; ArcelorMittal Longueuil - Canada;ArcelorMittal Industeel - France; ArcelorMittal Contrecoeur West - Canada; and ArcelorMittal Contrecoeur Est - Canada.
