ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih stops duplex steelmaking unit No. 6 for overhaul

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, has announced that it has stopped operations at its duplex steelmaking unit No. 6 in the open-hearth furnace shop for scheduled repairs.

The company stated that this is the second stage of planned work to transfer the unit to a single-mode operation mode, which will reduce the industrial impact on the environment. The investment for the repair works will amount to UAH 54.5 million ($2.08 million).
