ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukrainian subsidiary of global steel giant ArcelorMittal, has stated that it has started producing 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm diameter reinforcement bars for Israel, amid the rise in construction activity in Israel and, accordingly, the country’s high demand for reinforcement bars.

“We had three goals: to enter the Israeli market, and to start producing bent rebars for Saudi Arabia and for East Africa. The Israeli and Palestinian markets are vital for us, and we are ahead of China in terms of logistics,” company officials stated.

The company has a range of 11 new steel grades. This has enabled it to keep its position in its domestic market and find new customers in Turkey. In 2014, the company saw its strongest sales since 2009.
