ArcelorMittal's Romanian unit ArcelorMittal Galati has announced that it has relaunched its transformation program in order to adapt to current and mid-term challenges.
ArcelorMittal Galati stated that stopping the transformation process is not an option since it has reported negative financial results for four consecutive years. The company underlined that accelerating the transformation program is the only way to ensure the future of the plant.
The new stage of the transformation program, initially launched at the end of 2008 to reduce the gap with ArcelorMittal Galati's competitors in terms of variable costs and product quality, will focus on three main objectives: safety, better quality and services for clients, and improved costs with a special focus on energy consumption.
