ArcelorMittal forms key environmental alliance for Brazilian operations

Danbury, Connecticut based industrial gases company Praxair, Inc. announced Tuesday that White Martins Industriais Ltda., the Brazilian subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. has signed an agreement with ArcelorMittal to supply oxygen to ArcelorMittal's steel production facility in southeast Brazil to improve the plant's furnace efficiency and environmental performance.

White Martins will build a new air separation unit with a capacity of 780 net tons (nt) per day and equipped with advanced process controls and energy-efficient process cycles. The plant is scheduled to start up in early 2013.
