ArcelorMittal Dofasco president and CEO leaving to join European operations

In a letter to employees Tuesday, Juergen Schachler, president and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco, based in Hamilton, Ontario, said he would be leaving to join ArcelorMittal Europe.

"I am very confident that ArcelorMittal Dofasco will continue to perform with excellence. I leave knowing that we have collectively set the course for a sustainable future for ArcelorMittal Dofasco with a focus on remaining a top manufacturing employer, being our customers' supplier of choice and a community builder," he said in the letter.

Jim Baske, presently the head of North American Tubular Products, will become President and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco.
