Brazilian steelmaker ArcelorMittal Brazil said this week its e-commerce steel sales rose 38 percent in the accumulated period of March and April, as compared to January and February.

The company said social distancing measures imposed by governments help explain the growth in steel ecommerce sales.

ArcelorMittal offers a range of steel products, from wires, rebar, nails, wire rod, among other products. The company said the growing demand for steel products online made it anticipate plans it had for 2021.

ArcelorMittal Brazil said demand from smaller buyers, including architecture professionals, engineering companies, shops and individuals helped it sustain the ecommerce sales growth.
