ArcelorMittal Brazil was awarded the ISO 14025 and EN 15804-equivalent certifications for its HRC, galvanized coils and galvalume products from German Institut Bauen und Umwelt, the company said on Wednesday.

ArcelorMittal Brazil said the three products are produced at its Tubarão and Vega flat steel mills, located in the states of Espírito Santo and Santa Catarina, respectively.

The company said the certification, known as Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), assesses the life cycle and the environmental impact of products. ArcelorMittal Brazil said it was the first Latin American steelmaker to get such a certification for the three products.
