ArcelorMittal appoints two new executives for Brazilian operations

Global steelmaker ArcelorMittal has appointed two new executives to assume some of the group’s operations in Brazil, the company told SteelOrbis.

The announcement came as ArcelorMittal appointed Marcelo Marino Pena Luz as the CEO of Argentina’s Acindar.

According to ArcelorMittal, Waldenir Luciano de Souza Lima will assume the role of vice-president of ArcelorMittal Longs Brazil. Additionally, Joao Henrique Palmer Caldeira will be the director of the ArcelorMittal’s mill located in the city of Juiz de Fora, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.

Lima has worked at the Juiz de Fora mill for about 24 years at management-level positions. He then moved to the management of the Piracicaba mill, in the city of same name in the state of Sao Paulo, and more recently was a director at the Juiz de Fora mill. Lima has a degree in Chemical Engineering.

Caldeira started working at ArcelorMittal in 1987 as an assistant engineer. He assumed different positions, including general manager of wire drawing at the Juiz de Fora mill. He has a degree in Metallurgy Engineering and a MBA.
