Arcelor to invest €7.5 million in Polish steel mill

As reported by SteelOrbis last week, Luxembourg-based steel giant Arcelor announced that it would finalize the acquisition of rail and stainless steel producer Huta Lucchini Steel Mill, located in Warsaw, Poland, once the company received a go-ahead from the regulatory authorities. Moreover, the company revealed that it would construct a rolling mill in Warsaw, which mainly will produce steel bars for the construction sector. Arcelor CEO Guy Dolle has completed the negotiations regarding the acquisition and is now finalizing the administrative details. An investment of €7.5 million is planned to be made in the rolling mill, which is scheduled to be completed by 2007.
