Luxembourg-based Arcelor announced yesterday that its Brazilian unit Arcelor Brasil signed an agreement to buy a 50 percent stake of the capital of the Costa Rican companies Laminadora Costarricense SA and Trefileria Colima from Grupo Pujol Marti. Although the transaction is subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions, it is expected to be completed by January 31, 2006.
