Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang Steel Co. (Ansteel) has announced that on January 19 it reached an agreement on an exclusive contract to supply all the bridge steel for the Slussen bridge project in Sweden. This is the first time Ansteel's bridge steel will enter the Swedish market. Accordingly, Ansteel will once again ship its bridge steel to a European country after previous successfully supplying bridge steel for projects in Norway and Germany.

The Slussen Bridge site is located in the Slugstedt district of Stockholm, Sweden. The general contractor for the bridge project is Sweden Skanska, one of the largest bridge builders in the world. The bridge will have a length of 139 meters and a total weight about 4,000 metric tons.

The steel to be supplied by Ansteel will total around 4,000 metric tons, consisting of European steel grades from S355 to S690, with thicknesses ranging from 5 mm to 100 mm.
