Ansteel to supply 9% nickel steel plate to Sinopec LNG project in Guangxi

Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang Steel Group (Ansteel) has announced that it has won a tender to supply 9% nickel steel plate to the liquefied natural gas (LNG) project of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China.
 
Accordingly, Ansteel will supply over 4,200 mt of the steel plate in question for application in LNG storage tanks. Ansteel has developed 9% nickel steel, 5% nickel steel and 3.5% nickel steel, with the maximum thickness of its 9% nickel steel plate reaching 40 mm.
 
Since 2011, Ansteel has supplied 2,386 mt of 5% nickel steel plate in a thickness range of 10-55 mm to Nantong Pacific Ocean Engineering Co. To date, the company has also supplied 1,655 mt of 9% nickel steel plate to Sinopec’s LNG project in Tangshan.
