On March 1, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang Steel Co. (Ansteel) announced that 5,000 mt of its X80M thick pipeline steel plate have been delivered from Bayuquan port in Liaoning to Tianjin port, marking the completion of Ansteel’s supply of 17,000 mt of these plate products to Chinese state-owned oil and gas corporation China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and indicating that Ansteel now has the capacity to supply these products in large volumes.

Ansteel won the supply contract in question from CNPC in January of the current year. The 17,000 mt of pipeline steel plate of 3,730 mm in width and 26.4 mm in thickness will be used in the third line of CNPC’s west-to-east natural gas transmission project.
