Liaoning Province-based Chinese steel producer Anshan Iron and Steel Group (Anshan Steel) has signed a strategic cooperation partnership agreement with Denmark-headquartered global transportation giant A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk).
Under the framework of the agreement, Anshan Steel will supply steel sheets for containers to Maersk.
Maersk Line, a subsidiary of Maersk, is the world's largest container shipping company in the world, with over 500 container carrying vessels and more than 3 million containers.
Despite slack demand in the global container market, so far in the current year Anshan Steel has sold around 610,000 mt of steel sheets for containers, ranking first in China in terms of sales volume of the product in question.
