According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October the consumer price index (CPI) for Turkish industry in general increased by two percent month on month, while annual inflation decreased to 8.55 percent from 9.66 percent recorded in September.
Among the main product groups, the highest month-on-month increase was seen in clothing and shoe wear with 11.7 percent, while the highest year-on-year increase was registered in alcoholic beverages and tobacco products with 43.6 percent.
