UK-based mining giant Anglo American has announced that it has revised down its metallurgical coal production forecast for 2020 to 19-21 million mt, declining by 2 million mt from a previous forecast of 21-23 million mt in January, after a roof collapse at Moranbah North on 30 January 2020. The company expects to complete the sale of its 12 percent in the Grosvenor mine this year and this situation has affected the company’s 2020 metallurgical coal production guidance.

Meanwhile, the company's Kumba iron ore production guidance for 2020 stands at the range of 41.5-42.5 million mt, while its production forecast for Minas-Rio Project stands at 22-24 million mt, including a one-month production stoppage in the second quarter.
