According to Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang Steel, a significant consignment of heavy rails produced by the company has lately been shipped to Australia, marking the first time Angang Steel has exported a large amount of heavy rail to a developed country.

The consignment in question consisted of 10,000 mt of Australian standard heavy rails, each 25 meters long and weighing 60 kg. The rails will be used to construct the 83 km railway from Morawa to the Karara iron ore mine in Western Australia.

Zhang Xiaogang, general manager of Angang Steel, commented that this success in exports can boost Angang Steel's efforts to explore the international market.

Angang Steel also stated it has won many orders to supply high-speed railways in China, including the Wuhan-Guangzhou line, Zhenzhou-Xian line, Beijing-Tianjin line, Wenzhou-Fuzhou line, Shanghai-Hangzhou line, Harbin-Dalian line, and others.
