Angang releases ex-factory prices for May

On April 8, Liaoning Province-based Anshan Iron & Steel Corporation (Angang) released its ex-factory prices for May. The details are as follows:

I. HRC
Prices of common and low-alloy structural steel have increased by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt). Thus, the new price of 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm x C Q235 is RMB 4,770/mt ($681/mt).
Prices of IF3 low carbon steel are up by RMB 350/mt ($50/mt), while prices of other kinds of low carbon steel have risen by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt).

II. CRC
1. Base prices of common carbon structural steel, coated sheet (TD1 and TD2), steel for elevator use, and enamel steel (TC2) have increased by RMB 150/mt ($21/mt). As a result, the ex-factory price of 1.0 mm St12 is RMB 5,520/mt ($789/mt).
2. The price of structural steel (St37-2G) is up by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt).
3. The base prices of Full Hard coils have increased by RMB 300/mt ($43/mt).

III. HDG
Base prices have increased by RMB 50-150/mt ($7-21/mt).

IV. Color coated
Base prices have seen an increase of RMB 150/mt ($21/mt).

V. Medium plate
Base prices have risen by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt).

VI. Wire rod
Base prices have increased by RMB 100/mt ($14/mt).

VII. Seamless pipe
Prices have risen by RMB 500/mt ($71/mt).

Price levels have remained unchanged for other products.

The above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of April 8, 2008.
