Andritz to supply HDG line for Nucor Steel’s Arkansas facility

Global plant and equipment supplier Andritz has announced that it will build a hot dip galvanizing (HDG) line for US-based steel producer Nucor Steel’s facility in Hickman, Arkansas.

The scope of supply and services to be provided by Andritz includes the new hot dip galvanizing line, the technology for high-strength steel grades, strip cleaning, mechanical equipment including strip transport and skin pass mill, electrical equipment, automation and startup for the plant. The new line will have a capacity of approximately 455,000 mt, while startup is scheduled for the first half of 2021.
