Canada-based mining company Altius Minerals Corporation (Altius) has announced its financial results for the second quarter and the first half ended October 31, 2013. In the second quarter, the company posted a net loss of C$752,000, narrowing down from C$2.4 million in the same period last year, while the company's revenue declined by 9.8 percent year on year to C$632,000.

During the first half, Altius' net loss was C$2.06 million, compared to C$5.4 million in the same period of the previous year. The company's revenue amounted to C$888,000, down 39.3 percent year on year.

Altius stated that, as a result of the ongoing decline in the market-based valuations of many mineral-related assets, it continues to seek out investment opportunities in the industry. Altius has a strong preference for royalty-based investments that meet its objectives in terms of inherent value and underlying asset quality.
