Allegheny Technologies reports first quarter results

Pittsburgh, US based steel producer Allegheny Technologies has recently announced first quarter results. The company reported a net loss of $50.4 million on sales of $577.8 million in the first quarter ended on March 31, 2004. The sales indicated an increase of 20% when compared to $480.5 million recorded in the corresponding period of previous fiscal. When compared with the sales recorded in the first quarter of 2003, Flat-Rolled Products segment sales increased by 28% to $329.6 million, High Performance Metals segment sales increased by 11% to $178.7 million and Engineered Products segment sales increased by 12% to $69.5 million.
