In order to lower emissions caused by truck transportation, special railway lines for coal and coke transportation will be built in Shanxi by 2020, as announced by local media in China’s Shanxi Province. The percentage of coal and coke transportation by railway in Shanxi will rise to 80 percent or higher by 2020, while all coal and coke transportation from Shanxi to other provinces or regions will be carried out by rail by that year.

In particular, large-scale industrial and mining enterprises and newly-built logistics parks with annual bulk transportation of more than 1.5 million mt will build special railway lines.
