AK Steel reveals price hike for stainless steel products

AK Steel has announced today that transaction prices for all cold rolled stainless sheet and strip products will be raised by approximately 3 percent, effective with all shipments beginning February 19, 2006. To establish this price increase, a two point reduction will be made in the functional discount rate. The company attributes the price increase to elevations in energy, manufacturing and transportation costs, as well as a need to fund capital investments.
