AK Steel announces titanium surcharge
Ohio-based steel producer AK Steel announced today that it will add a titanium component to its stainless steel raw material surcharge effective for shipments as of May 1, 2005. The new surcharge will be applied on all grades of stainless steel sheet, strip and plate that contain titanium. The amount of surcharge will be announced later this month and will be calculated based on the percentage titanium utilized in the various grades.
