AK Steel announces May surcharges
A statement released by Ohio-based steel producer AK Steel indicates that the company will apply a raw material surcharge of $218 per ton on its flat rolled carbon steel products for shipments in May 2005. This amounts to a decrease of $12 per ton from the April surcharge of $230 per ton. Moreover, AK Steel will increase pricing extras for interstitial-free (IF) carbon steel grades by $1.50/cwt ($30/ton) effective with orders as of May 1, 2005.AK Steel announces May surcharges
